Rockwall ISD
One of the most important aspects of living in Monterra is the academic excellence that the children of the community are afforded by the Rockwall Independent School District. According to the national school rating service Niche, the district has 16,987 students in grades PK, K-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 17 to 1. This means each student gets a great deal of personal attention and encouragement. This shows up in the state test scores which note that 67% of students are at least proficient in math and 62% in reading. This is truly one of the exemplary school districts in Texas.

BILLIE STEVENSON ELEMENTARY and CELIA HAYS ELEMENTARY
Children who are elementary school age attend Billie Stevenson Elementary and Celia Hays Elementary schools. Both schools provide a high-quality fine arts education that is designed to support academic, social, emotional, and creative development. This goal is achieved through a comprehensive performing and visual arts curriculum.
J.W. WILLIAMS MIDDLE SCHOOL and UTLEY MIDDLE SCHOOL
Monterra kids who are in middle school attend J.W. Williams Middle School or Utley Middle School. Rockwall ISD and all 19 of its campuses have achieved the state’s highest rating for academic achievement. The district and all campuses were officially rated “Met Standard” according to the Texas Education Agency.
ROCKWALL HIGH SCHOOL
High School is a time when boys and girls learn to be young men and women. For those kids who are high school age and living in Monterra, Rockwall High School is the perfect place to set and meet academic and extracurricular goals, make life-long friends, and become lifetime learners and leaders. The teachers and administrators are some of the best in the nation and offer personalized guidance that changes lives.
